Memorial Regional Hospital Moves Forward with $670 Million Expansion in Hollywood

The Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, Florida is moving forward with a transformative $670 million expansion, marking one of the most significant capital projects in the hospital’s history. Unanimously approved by the South Broward Hospital District Board of Commissioners, the development will introduce a new Surgical and Patient Bed Tower designed to meet rising patient demand, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen the delivery of advanced medical services across South Florida.

The expansion includes more than 400,000 square feet of new construction and nearly 50,000 square feet of renovations. Surgical capacity will be significantly enhanced with 21 new operating rooms, including a hybrid OR equipped for advanced imaging, along with shelled space reserved for future growth. The number of preoperative and recovery bays will increase from 37 to 58, and a new sterile processing department will be built to streamline support for surgical operations…
