Exterior Work Underway at 3050 Aventura, Safra Bank’s New Headquarters in Florida

Exterior work is underway on 3050 Aventura, a new 12-story Class A office development at 3050 Northeast 199th Street in Aventura, Florida. The project is being developed by Safra National Bank, which acquired the 1.31-acre site in 2009 for $11.5 million. It replaces a three-story office building constructed in 1991. Designed by Foster + Partners in collaboration with ODP Architecture & Design as architect of record, the building rises to 210 feet and is defined by a dramatic geometric form composed of two interlocking prisms. The structure’s profile is sculptural and futuristic, with a silhouette that expands as it rises, evoking the form of a faceted crystal or diamond.

Recent aerial imagery reveals that construction at 3050 Aventura has advanced into the exterior envelope phase, where the louvered cladding system is beginning to define the tower’s striking silhouette. Installation is now underway on the lower, inverted prism, which forms the structural and visual base of the building. This segment is composed of four bold, three-sided volumes, triangular in plan and steeply sloped inward, framed in angular steel that converges toward the core of the structure. Together, these faceted elements give the base a sculptural, crystalline appearance that appears to lock into the broader, outward-flaring prism above, reinforcing the building’s interlocking geometries.

The inward-facing facets are being clad with horizontal metal louvers, introducing shading, texture, and movement to the tower’s lower half. This latticework of louvers is expected to continue along the diagonally chamfered corners of the upper prism, visually extending the lower prisms into the larger mass above, a gesture that may be interpreted as interlocked diamonds or stacked geometric volumes. Just above, additional structural grid elements are being installed, which will ultimately be fitted with glass curtain walls and broad horizontal fins or more widely spaced louvers.

A closer look at the midsection of the structure reveals the continued progress of fireproofing operations across the exposed steel framing. The contrast is visually apparent between the raw, rust-colored structural steel framing the upper levels and the lighter, sprayed-on intumescent coating that now encases much of the steel on the lower floors. Also visible are the mounting clips and brackets that will support the future installation of the glass curtain wall system.

The tower will encompass 113,650 square feet of Class A office space, with interiors designed to emphasize openness, warmth, and material richness. Ceiling heights will reach 11 feet throughout the floors, complemented by a palette of natural finishes including timber and limestone. A 37-foot-tall ground-floor lobby will serve as a central gathering space, featuring informal seating and an elevator bay positioned along the western edge of the building, while the eastern exposure offers ocean views.

The twelfth and uppermost floor will house a suite of executive offices, client meeting rooms, and a private lounge. Crowning the tower is a landscaped rooftop terrace, envisioned as a multifunctional amenity space with a water feature, bar, and dining areas for informal meetings and social events. Below grade, the development will provide 386 parking spaces distributed across three subterranean levels.

Turner Construction Company serves as the general contractor. The building topped off in late February 2025, and completion is expected sometime in 2026.
