Phase two of “redefining Broward Schools” taking a closer look at dozens of schools during today’s workshop. School Board member Dr. Allen Zeman says sixteen elementary, fifteen middle and three high schools are on the list with enrollment below seventy percent of the school’s capacity. He says COVID, school vouchers and the cost of living in South Florida have all contributed to population declines. Phase one resulted in the closing of one elementary school and the conversion of four into k-through-8 facilities. A final decision is expected before year’s end.
