A Hollywood, Florida man with a history of bank robbery has been arrested following a heist at a PNC Bank in Palm City, as confirmed by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office. The suspect, identified as 55-year-old Lewis McNack, is accused of robbing the bank on Monday, communicating to a teller that he was armed and demanding cash, before fleeing the scene headed towards Broward County, according to WPBF.
The successful capture of McNack involved a collaborative effort between local law enforcement and the FBI, and some might say, the suspect’s own misstep of trying to deposit the purloined funds into his personal bank account only a few short hours after the crime was committed, deputies caught him and the story quickly unfolded revealing the suspect’s previous conviction for an Oklahoma bank robbery in 2005 for which he served a stretch in prison of 14 years plus three years of subsequent supervised probation, CBS12 reported.
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office stated that after the robbery in Palm City, McNack traveled to Broward County. His arrest came in less than three hours.
