A man wanted for a homicide in Wilkinsburg was apprehended in Florida, ending a manhunt that extended well beyond the Pittsburgh area. Harvey Scott, 37, was arrested yesterday after a pursuit on foot by U.S. Marshals in Miami, as WPXI reported. Scott is accused of the murder of 18-year-old Deglin St. Clair, found shot on June 18 in the 1700 block of Wesley Street in Wilkinsburg.
Following a thorough investigation that led U.S. Marshals down the eastern seaboard, Scott was discovered in Southern Florida, allegedly attempting a fleeting escape. “The members of the Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force work tirelessly and diligently to locate Harvey Scott in Florida. And as a result of the quick actions of our Marshal Services counterparts in Southern Florida, this extremely dangerous individual is now off the streets and in custody,” U.S. Marshal Stephen Eberle stated, as detailed by WPXI.
