Franklin Adams grew up in the Miami area, diving for shiny coins in the crystal clear canals that could be found here 80 years ago.
Tourists at the time were fond of tossing nickels and dimes into the water and watching Adams and his friends, mostly indigenous Miccosukee, dive to the sandy bottom, pick up the coins and return to the surface with a smile.
Adams was more than willing to plunge headfirst into the warm waters for some pocket change…
