In the pre-dawn quiet of Hollywood, violence broke out, leading to the arrest of Chevea Annease Freeman, 24, charged with attempted murder following a domestic-related shooting. According to a report by Local 10, police responded to the incident around 2:30 a.m. on the 2100 block of Van Buren Street. Responding officers found an adult victim near 2100 Hollywood Boulevard, suffering from a gunshot wound, who was later taken to Memorial Regional Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities have taken all weapons connected to the shooting into custody, and they have securely secured them. Freeman is now being held without bond at the Broward Main Jail and faces additional charges of resisting an officer without violence, as per jail records cited by a post on Facebook. Despite the clear aftermath, the motive for the shooting by investigators still remains unclear at this time.
The suspect, Freeman, described as a 34-year-old female with a height of 5’05” and a weight of 180 lbs, was identified by Hollywood Police Department officers at the scene. Details from her booking information, such as being an Aries and her race being listed as ‘B’, have surfaced online but pertain little to the gravity of the charges she now faces. A serious portrait surely belies the humanity behind the mugshot…
