Another longtime bar has closed its doors in Miami. Bar Nancy, a staple of the Little Havana nightlife scene known for its Revolutionary War theme and live music, has quietly closed its doors at 2007 SW Eighth St. The bar, which earned a reputation as a local hangout on a stretch of Calle Ocho increasingly overrun by tourists, appears to have closed in late 2025.
While ownership has not released a formal statement regarding the closure, the venue has remained dark for weeks, and its digital presence has gone silent since December 19, 2025. Its once-packed events calendar is now blank, and recurring theme nights have begun migrating to other venues in South Florida.
Seven Years on Calle Ocho
Bar Nancy opened in 2017, bringing a rustic, ship-like atmosphere to Little Havana. Founded by a team that included Lizz Dominguez and Ben Bush, the bar was designed to feel like a neighborhood “local” rather than a tourist destination.
The interior featured colonial-style artwork, nautical details, and a porthole leading to a back patio. Since its inception, the venue has been a frequent winner of New Times awards, including Best Cocktails in 2017 and Best Venue for Local Acts in 2024…
