An 81-year-old Buna resident is at the center of an identity theft investigation after authorities said her personal information was used to buy a $130,000 vehicle from a Miami dealership and to seek credit for additional purchases.
The victim reported the fraud on Feb. 23, 2026, after discovering someone had purchased the $130,000 vehicle using her identity, according to investigators. Authorities said the suspect(s) also used her information at financial institutions in an attempt to gain credit to purchase another vehicle valued at $43,000.
