Miami Grand Prix buzz spreads with free Formula 1 fan fests

Before Formula 1 cars race around Hard Rock Stadium this weekend, they will roar through Coconut Grove during a McLaren show run on Wednesday.

Why it matters: It’s one of the many free fan events happening this week around the Miami Grand Prix, proof that what happens off the track is almost as exciting as the race itself.

How it works: The Grand Prix weekend runs Friday-Sunday, with the race on Sunday at 4pm.

  • There will be practice and qualifying sessions Friday and Saturday, and a sprint race on Saturday.
  • Formula 2 and F1 Academy, the female racing league, will also race in Miami this weekend.
