Hawaiian Electric says customers in need can apply until June 30 for a one-time credit to help pay for energy costs through a federal program to reduce their electric bills.
According to a news release, applications for the Hawaii Home Energy Assistance Program are accepted only in June by agents of the Hawaii Department of Human Services’ H-HEAP administration — the Honolulu Community Action Program, Maui Economic Opportunity and Hawaii County Economic Opportunity Council.
