Kailua’s New Sugar Rush, Cinnamon’s Sweet Shop Hits Kailua Square

Cinnamon’s Sweet Shop, a compact takeout dessert cafe spun off from longtime Kailua brunch favorite Cinnamon’s, is now serving sugar fixes in the courtyard at Kailua Square. The new spot is pouring traditional espresso drinks, cream-soda specials and rotating soft-serve flavors, while bagging up housemade cookies and pancake-inspired pani popo. Owner Alika Nam says the shop is dedicated to his mother, Cricket (Bonnie) Nam, whose recipes shaped many of the sweets on the menu.

The shop officially opened Monday, June 1, 2026, and operates daily from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to Aloha State Daily. It sits across the atrium from Cinnamon’s Restaurant in Kailua Square, per Cinnamon’s Restaurant.

Menu highlights

The menu leans playful and a little adventurous. Rotating soft-serve flavors include black sesame and other island-forward options, with kalo and haupia in the pipeline and a salted strawberry balsamic with black pepper planned, as reported by HONOLULU Magazine. Specialty drinks range from the Tokyo Dream ($5.50) to the Sweetheart Latte ($8.99), and the sweets lineup includes the Elvis Pudding parfait ($7.99), guava pani popo ($6.50) and bags of cookies priced from $6.50 to $8.99.
