Hawaii couple almost falls for fake jury duty scam

HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Honolulu Police Department is warning residents to be on alert for highly convincing scams involving fake jury duty notices and arrest threats.

According to HPD, scammers are contacting people by phone, text message and email while posing as law enforcement officials. The scammers falsely claim that victims missed jury duty and now face arrest unless they make an immediate payment.
