WAIʻANAE, OʻAHU (KHON2) — A long-running effort to relocate residents from the Puʻuhonua O Waiʻanae homeless encampment at Waiʻanae Boat Harbor is getting more time, but not everyone is happy about it.
The Department of Land and Natural Resources has approved a request from Puʻuhonua O Waiʻanae to extend its move-out deadline from June 25 to Oct. 16, 2026, allowing residents additional time to relocate to a 20-acre property up Waiʻanae Valley that was purchased in 2020.
