Pet owners warned to prepare pets for 4th of July fireworks ahead of time

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Summer’s prime event is the 4th of July weekend — typically celebrated with a variety of outdoor activities, summer barbecues and of course, fireworks. But not everyone is a fan of the loud booms and pops, especially your pets.

The Hawaiian Humane Society is urging pet parents to prep their furry friends this week.

“The time to prepare is right now — not the week of and definitely just not the night before,” HHS said in a social media post.
