HONOLULU (KHON2) — A budget battle is brewing at Honolulu Hale.

Nearly three weeks after the city council approved the city’s nearly $4.8 billion operating budget, Mayor Rick Blangiardi is making good on his threat to line-item veto portions of the budget, setting up a potential showdown with the council.
