PEARL CITY, Hawaii (Island News) – A Honolulu Police Department (HPD) officer is being recognized after helping to save neighbors from a house fire in Pearl City on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.
While off duty, Sgt. Jonathan Fryre noticed smoke and flames coming from a neighboring home and immediately alerted the occupants of the home. He then helped to evacuate them safely before the fire spread.
