Man finishes 50 state run on Oʻahu, dedicates as ‘tribute to the American people’

WAIKIKI, Hawaii (KHON2) — A man completed his remarkable run for America on Oʻahu on July 4.

Family, friends and members of the military cheered on Noah Coughlan as he stepped foot on Waikiki Beach, with a flag donated by the Travis Air Force Base in California.

“It’s been an incredible journey and I’m a little at a loss for words right now,” Coughlan said. “Had a speech reserved in my head and looking at the crowd, this is called a tribute to the American people.”

His family said his mission began as a way to raise awareness for two childhood friends who had a rare brain disease…
