Hawaiʻi Tattoo Expo showcases 500+ artists and family fun

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Tattoo lovers, artists, vendors and more will gather this weekend to celebrate the beloved art form from across the islands and the world.

The Hawaiʻi Tattoo Expo, also known as the Pacific Ink and Art Expo, is back at the Neal Blaisdell Center from July 10 to 12.

Festivities kick off Thursday, July 9, with a free meet and greet co-hosted by Romer House Waikiki and The Lei Stand. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet featured artists before the event weekend.

” I was traveling the world and seeing these big tattoo festivals and through that experience, I was like, Hawaiʻi needs this,” Co-founder Danny Casler said. “We are a melting pot, of culture and family. Tattooing started in Polynesia, with the Samoans and the Hawaiians. So, I was like, man, this has got to be something that we can bring home to Hawaiʻi. Our first year just went into the stratosphere and now we’re 11 years in.”…
