HONOLULU (KHON2) — Drivers should plan ahead this weekend as a portion of the H-1 Freeway will be shut down in both directions overnight Saturday.
Officials said this operation will allow crews to install a temporary pedestrian bridge as part of the ongoing H-1 Eastbound Improvements Project and the reconstruction of the Gulick Avenue overpass.
The Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation said the full closure will begin at 8 p.m. Saturday, July 11, and lasts until 8 a.m. Sunday, July 12. The closure stretches between the Middle Street merge and the Likelike Highway off-ramp.
