HONOLULU (Island News) — The H-1 is expanding in hopes of reducing traffic and increasing safety.
“Once we put this in place, we can get rid of that backup that occurs in that area. Because of the merge, you see a lot of weaving in this area. That weaving causes crashes at different points along the roadway. Want to get rid of weaving? Once we get rid of that, we can be safer as well,” said Ed Sniffen, the director Department of Transportation for Hawaii (DOT).
