Man indicted on murder charge after victim dies from alleged Waikiki brick attack

WAIKIKI, Hawaii (Island News) — The man accused of beating a man with a brick at a Waikiki bus stop in September was indicted on Friday for a murder charge, after the victim died from his injuries in May.

The suspect, Cody Lucas, was indicted on Friday, July 17, for second-degree murder and first-degree robbery following the alleged robbery attack in Waikiki this past fall. The assault happened just before 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 23, at a bus stop on Kuhio Avenue, according to police.

Police found a 65-year-old man bleeding from his head as well as a brick nearby. Months after the attack in late May, the victim died from his injuries…
