KAPOLEI, Oahu (KHON2) — For the past three years, Kapolei Middle School has been home to a Ke Kula Kaiapuni program, where 7th and 8th grade students could learn everything they needed in Olelo Hawaii.
“Hawaiian immersion is students learning through the Hawaiian language, so students learn every subject that’s learned in the English medium schools, but they learn it through our language, the knowledge of our Kupuna,” said Andrea Dias-Machado, Ke Alohi O Ewa President & CEO.
