KAHALA, Hawaii (Island News) — City crews responded to a force main break in Kahala on Friday afternoon that caused a wastewater spill which was fully contained by Saturday mornig.
The force main break of a 24-inch line happened near 4925 Kahala Ave. at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, according to the City and County of Honolulu Department of Environmental Services (ENV).
Crews arrived at the main break at 6:45 p.m. and immediately worked to contain the spill and divert wastewater from the broken line to an 18-inch bypass line. Following hours of repairs and efforts, the spill was fully contained by 11:30 p.m…
