HONOLULU (KHON2) — Hawaiian Electric is replacing aging utility poles along Farrington Highway as part of a three-year project aimed at strengthening the power grid along Oʻahu’s Leeward Coast.
The project began in June, and eight poles have already been replaced in the Mākaha area. Hawaiian Electric said more than 100 wooden utility poles along the Farrington Highway corridor are expected to be replaced, with about a dozen more scheduled to be replaced in late October or November.
