HONOLULU (KHON2) — Residents in East Oahu turned out to a town hall to hear from Hawaiian Electric about recurring power outages on Wednesday, Sept. 23.
Hawaiian Electric said it is working to make the system more reliable, but many residents said they have heard those promises before. For years, East Oahu residents have dealt with repeated power outages mainly caused by trees falling on transmission lines that cross the Koolau Range.
