KALIHI, Hawaii (Island News) — The announcement of a new Foodland Dillingham is getting a positive reaction from residents in Kalihi, but neighbors said the excitement comes with questions about traffic, pedestrian safety and the amount of construction already happening along Dillingham Boulevard.
Foodland announced plans to build a new, approximately 27,000-square-foot store at ʻŌlauniu at Kapālama Kai, the redevelopment of the former Dillingham Plaza. The new store is expected to open in Feb. 2028, while the current Foodland remains open during construction.
