HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The family of a man who died after tripping on a cracked sidewalk in Salt Lake has settled a lawsuit with the city for $2.5 million.
The accident also exposed cracks in the city’s sidewalk maintenance program.
Brad Kimura fell before dawn on Oct. 21, 2024, while walking his rescue dog, Maya, on Ala Naupaka Street. He tripped on a crack in the sidewalk that was 3 inches high. Police found him on the sidewalk a few feet past the crack. He was conscious but not moving…
