WAIANAE, Hawaii (Island News) — Honolulu firefighters are being hailed as heroes after rescuing a puppy that got stuck in a storm drain last week. The owner said the eight-month-old pit bull, Kila, was on a walk in Waianae when she broke free and started chasing a chicken, straight into a storm culvert that kept getting narrower.
