HONOLULU (KHON2) — Mililani residents are on edge after two minors reported kidnapping experiences in the area.

One incident occurred on Jan. 26 after a 16-year-old female reported she was shoved into a white van against her will at the Town Center of Mililani.
Reports said she was able to escape the van the next day just before 9 a.m.
Another similar incident occurred the same day, after an elementary school student escaped an attempted kidnapping.
The student reported the incident happened around 2:30 p.m. on Friday during their bike ride home from school.
They said the man was driving a white van before he got out and started chasing the student on foot.
The student was able to get away and return home safely.
“At this time, please have a discussion with your child about keeping safe while travelling to and from school and to be aware of their surroundings,” said principal of Mililani High School Frederick Murphy.
