HONOLULU (KHON2) — An attempted murder investigation has been opened after a man was shot several times in Kapolei Monday night, Jan. 29.
First responders said it happened at around 10:30 p.m. near Kamaaha Avenue and Kanehili Street.
According to police, a 22-year-old man was in his vehicle when several masked individuals came up to him allegedly trying to get into his vehicle.
Police said the victim was able to drive away when he was shot.
The victim sustained injuries to his face and upper body, said Honolulu Emergency Medical Services.
He was then taken to the hospital in serious condition.
