HONOLULU (KHON2) –In the trial of alleged crime boss Michael Miske, the defense narrowed in on what they said are inconsistencies in statements from Miske’s former top associate.
Wayne Miller took the stand once again Friday. During the defense’s cross examination, Miske’s attorney highlighted what he called gaps in Miller’s statements provided to the FBI in 2017 as an informant regarding the murder of Jonathan Fraser.
The defense alleges that Miller told the FBI, Miske confessed to using his boat as part of the Fraser murder.
“You told the FBI about the boat being at Kewalo Basin,” said Michael Kennedy, Michael Miske’s attorney.
“No,” said Miller.
“But the FBI said they had evidence it was in Kaneohe,” Kennedy said.
“You told them once on the boat, they drove out to sea from the Downtown harbor,” said Kennedy.
“If there are a lot of inconsistencies in what he said before and what he’s said now, that is going to affect the way the jury views Mr. Miller’s testimony,” said Alexander “Ali” Silvert, a legal expert.
