Aircraft makes emergency landing in Maili

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Aviation officials are investigating an unexpected single-engine aircraft landing in Maili Tuesday morning.

The Honolulu Fire Department reported that the incident happened just after 10:40 a.m. and received the call from an area near Maili Beach Park.

According to HFD, a private plane was making an emergency landing. The aircraft’s two occupants were able to get out uninjured.

When firefighters arrived, they determined that no fire was involved and no fuel was leaking.

The plane is reported to be intact.

The National Transportation Safety Board will provide any updates as they investigate.
