New date set for former Honolulu prosecutor Keith Kaneshiro’s trial

HONOLULU (KHON2) — The trial for former Honolulu prosecutor Keith Kaneshiro has been delayed until March 2024.

The recent change in judges for the case is said to be the cause for the delay.

Judge Michael Seabright filed a motion in January to recuse himself from the case, the circumstances were not made known.

Judge Timothy Burgess is the new federal judge from Alaska who will be temporarily taking over the case.

Kaneshiro was indicted in 2022 for allegedly conspiring to prosecute business man Dennis Mitsunaga’s former employee.
