Blangiardi said he will remain focused on what he said are the state’s most pressing issues: housing, homelessness, and public safety.
He also stated that he is working on improving city departments linked to economic recovery.
“While this is a deeply personal decision for me, ironically it’s not about me,” expressed Blangiardi. “It’s both a personal and shared commitment to all of our dedicated leadership team to solve long overdue difficult problems, while we know all of them will greatly improve this wonderful island we call home.”
Former governor Linda Lingle showed her support in Blangiardi’s campaign.
“I think I can recognize when people deliver on their promises, and I can also tell you that first term, you’re getting your team in place, you’re making those adjustments and by the time you get to year three, there’s an election so these next few years after is when you’ll really see the blossoming of everything he’s working on now,” said Lingle.
