Hawaiʻi is one of only two states in the U.S. with this

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Did you know that you have your very own office at the State Capitol? It’s even staffed with experts and supplied with desks, computers and other resources to help you engage with Hawaiʻi legislation.

The Public Access Room (PAR), located in room 401 at the Hawaiʻi State Capitol, is one of only two that exist in the United States. The other one is located in Alaska.

This is an extraordinary tool that every resident of Hawaiʻi has free access to. It’s there to ensure that regardless of how powerless you feel, you do have a powerful resource that will amplify what you have to say about legislation in Hawaiʻi.

It is inside PAR that you can begin formulating how you want to engage legislation. You can utilize the team at PAR to help with gaining access to Legislators and legislative calendars. You can organize others who have the same vision and goals right from PAR. The team even trains you on exactly how to operate politically.

Even if you live on another island, you can still call for training and assistance or join one of their many web-based training opportunities. And did we mention, it’s all free!
