First Alert Forecast: Heavy rainfall expected over the eastern half of the state

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The Flood Watch posted for the eastern half of the state earlier Monday has now been canceled, however, heavy rainfall is still expected this evening and overnight. A disturbance is currently sitting over Kauai and Oahu, leading to upward motion over the eastern half of the state. That upward motion is taking advantage of the moisture moving over the eastern half of the state and will lead to moderate-to-heavy showers over windward Maui and the Big Island this evening.
