Oahu and nearby Hawaiian islands will see stronger trade winds this weekend, bringing more breezy conditions. Expect more wind-driven showers, mainly in the windward areas. As the high-pressure systems take firmer control, the trade winds are set to not only intensify but also maintain their blow well into next week. “Atmospheric stability will remain high, so any showers arriving on the trades will be brief, and favor windward areas during nights and mornings,” the National Weather Service Honolulu forecast discussion outlined. Meanwhile, windward flyers can expect to encounter periods of moderate visibility and showers, but general air travel should remain largely unaffected, with no AIRMETs currently in place.
