Aloha Festivals to celebrate 70th Annual Waikiki Hoolaulea

HONOLULU (KHON2) — The 70th Annual Waikiki Hoolaulea will transform Kalakaua Avenue into a lively block party on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 6 to 9:30 p.m.

This year’s event will showcase more than 100 vendor booths featuring Hawaii’s cuisine, crafts, and culture, with new additions including Manaola, Kababa Mama, and Blue Water Shrimp.

Attendees can enjoy live local entertainment on four stages along Kalākaua Avenue, sponsored by Royal Hawaiian Center, Kyo-ya Hotels & Resorts, Hawaiian Airlines, and International Market Place & Moani Waikiki.

For the first time, guests aged 21 and older can relax in the official Aloha Festivals Beer Garden at the banyan tree in the International Market Place.

Street closures will begin at 12:30 p.m., with full closure of Kalākaua Avenue from Seaside Avenue to Lili‘uokalani Avenue starting at 2 p.m.

Parking validation will be available at the Royal Hawaiian Center, located at 2201 Kalkaua Ave.
