Car vs. pedestrian accident snarls west side traffic

MAILI, Hawaii (KHON2) — West side drivers are at a standstill after a motor vehicle collision shut down both directions of Farrington Highway at Princess Kahanu Avenue.

Both Honolulu police and Emergency Medical Services responded to the crash around 6:45 p.m. when a 75-year-old woman in a motorized mobility scooter was hit by a car.

Motorcyclist left in critical condition after crashing into guardrail

First responders said the woman suffered “extensive critical injuries to the lower half of the body where tourniquets were applied.”

On arrival, paramedics performed advanced life support before transporting her to an emergency room in critical condition.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area.
