Strong trade winds expected through Sunday

HONOLULU (KHON2) — There is no end in sight to the trade wind weather pattern however, high pressure to the north will produce trade wind speeds to 30 mph with higher gusts. Showers will remain light and windward, with a boost in showers Thursday morning and Saturday morning.

  • Breezy Trade Winds: High pressure to the northeast is bringing breezy trade winds to the islands.
  • Stable Conditions: Generally stable weather with strong temperature inversions at higher altitudes.
  • Light Showers: Some light showers, mainly in the Kauai mountains and windward areas.

Upcoming Weather:

  • Drier Conditions: Drier air will move in on Tuesday, reducing shower activity.
  • Strong Trade Winds: A strong high-pressure system will develop, bringing strong and gusty trade winds to the islands from mid-week through the weekend.
