HONOLULU (KHON2) — Kaitie and Cody Miyashiro-Carvalho joined Brittni Friedlander on Wake Up 2Day to share their holiday coffee flights and breakfast items.

Kaitie shared about the pair’s background in creating Be Kakou: “We’re a Native Hawaiian and kama’āina family-owned outdoor café and community hub on wheels! We specialize in serving high-quality coffee and prioritize locally sourced food while fostering a space for us kānaka, kama’āina, & malihini to BE and find belonging. We first had the dream of starting BE about 5-years-ago, and the vision developed over time when we were on Mauna Kea and during Covid. Earlier this year, the stars aligned for us, and we’ve been in business for 3-months.”
Though Be Kakou is relatively new, they are already making strides in the local community.
Located on the west side of Oahu, they offer breakfast foods including variations of avocado toast, turkey pesto wraps, and more.
