HONOLULU (KHON2) — Kilauea Volcano is showing signs of increased seismic activity, but there has been no eruption, according to the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory (HVO).

Between December 14 and 17, several short bursts of seismic activity occurred beneath the summit, accompanied by minor inflation.
However, over the past 24 hours, activity has dropped to low levels, with only 14 minor quakes reported.

Despite the increased seismicity, no significant changes have been observed in the East or Southwest Rift Zones.
HVO has switched to daily updates due to the recent uptick in activity.
While magma movement continues at a low rate, future eruptions are still possible. Hazards remain around Kilauea, particularly near the Halemaʻumaʻu crater.
