MILILANI, Hawaii (KHON2) — Honolulu police officials are investigating a motor vehicle crash on the southbound lanes of the H2 Freeway in Mililani near the Leilehua Golf Course overpass.

Shortly before 4:30 p.m., Honolulu Emergency Medical Services responded to a motorcycle accident involving a motorcycle.
Statewide traffic fatalities increased in 2024
According to the Honolulu Police Department, the 27-year-old motorcyclist was speeding down the H-2 when he rear-ended a 53-year-old male driver and his five passengers.
He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
Paramedics treated the motorcyclist “for multiple traumatic injuries and transported him to a trauma hospital in critical condition.”
The driver and his passengers were uninjured and remained at the scene.
The accident forced a road closure for the Wilikina and Kamehameha onramps onto the H2. The roads have since reopened.
