State moves forward with more cameras to crack down on red-light runners

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – It’s a scene that’s all too familiar. The light at a busy intersection shifts from yellow to red, followed by a motorist rushing through. “The big thing that we see on the system now is that there is a push to get to my place before everybody else,” said state Department of Transportation director Ed Sniffen, who adds this type of driving behavior is dangerous and needs to stop.
