Pleasant trade wind weather is expected through Tuesday, with the only rain coming from a band of clouds that will move in midday Monday into the evening. Expect only light showers for windward and mauka areas during that time.
A First Alert is in order for what may be in store starting midweek. Forecast models are starting to agree more that an upper level trough will move through the islands Wednesday and then turn into a cutoff low north of the state. A cold front is also forecast to move through the state Wednesday and Thursday, with gusty southwest kona winds and showers and thunderstorms ahead of the front. There’s still a bit of uncertainty on the strength and timing of the system, but we’ll have the First Alert for you when the forecast becomes clearer…
