A hiker got into trouble on the Ka’au Crater Trail in Palolo Valley on Tuesday. The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received the distress call at 12:13 p.m. and dispatched 14 personnel to assist the woman in her 20s, who had lost her way and couldn’t find her way down the trail.
The first responders arrived within ten minutes and worked to establish a command and secure a landing zone for airlift operations. Despite the challenging terrain, the hiker was found by Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) personnel.
