WAIKIKI, Hawaii (KHON2) — Shortly before 5 p.m. on Feb. 15 the Honolulu Fire Department responded to a fire in a 16th-story residence on Ala Moana Boulevard, which they were able to extinguish.

HFD responded about 10 minutes after the call with approximately 52 personnel, who were able to secure a water supply and fight the blaze. An off-duty firefighter who happens to live in the building was also able to initiate a fire attack on the flames…
