Off-duty firefighter helps extinguish blaze at Waikiki high-rise

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Honolulu firefighters extinguished a fire at a high-rise in Waikiki on Ala Moana Boulevard. 

Crews were called to the scene just before 5 p.m. Saturday where they found flames and smoke coming from the 16th floor of the 17-story building. 

HNN was told before firefighters made it to the unit involved an off-duty firefighter, who is a resident of the building, grabbed the building’s hose line and got the fire under control…
