AIEA, Hawaii (Island News) — KuruKuru Sushi in the Pearl Kai Shopping Center will be closing this weekend after 22 years.
KuruKuru has decided to close after it began its conveyor belt sushi service in Aiea in 2002. Restaurant management told Island News that their last day will be on Sunday, Feb. 23.
A sign posted at the restaurant’s storefront states the decision came after much consideration. According to state filings, the closure will result in 20 jobs getting cut out of a total of 64 employees at the establishment.
The storefront’s sign reads, “We would like to express heartfelt gratitude to our customers and employees for their dedication and support over the last 22 years.”…
